What do I need to do to get married? There are 2 steps. Step 1, book an appointment with the HSE to register your intent to marry. Step 2 book a ceremony.

Do I still need to book an appointment with the HSE if I book you for my ceremony? Yes you do. All legal marriage must be registered with the HSE regardless of who conducts them/where they take place.

How much notice do I need to give to the HSE for my intention to marry? At least 3 months but we suggest booking an appointment as early as possible.

Do I need witnesses? Yes, 2 and they must be aged 18 or over. (Tip: When you go to your appointment with the HSE to register your intent to marry you will need the name of these witnesses and their date of birth.)

Can I get married at the weekend? Yes you can, we can legally marry you 7 days a week. Registry office weddings can only be carried out Monday to Friday and this often causes confusion about being legally married at the weekend.

Can I get married outside? Yes you can, please check HSE guidelines regarding venues; READ HERE

Can I get married in my garden/house? No, the HSE specifies that in order for a venue to qualify as a legally registered venue it must be open to the public and meet a set list of criteria; READ HERE

Can you marry us in the registry office? No. Only those employed directly by the HSE can conduct weddings in the registry office. Ours is a peronsalised, tailored ceremony designed just for you, to be performed at a venue of your choice.

How long does the ceremony take? Depending on the chosen elements of your ceremony approximately 30 minutes on average

What kind of ceremony do you offer? Our service is a civil ceremony with a wedding blessing.

What is included in the ceremony? We can include unity candles, memorial candle (if required) handfasting and or a sand ceremony. There is no extra charge for these additional elements of the service. The ceremony will also contain music and readings chosen by you.

What is handfasting? It is an ancient celtic tradition. It involves wrapping cords/ribbons around the bride and grooms clasped hands and tying a knot. Essentially it symbolises the binding the couple together in unity. We can incorporate this into our ceremony and include hand ties at no extra cost.

What is a sand ceremony? Coloured sand is poured into a vase by the bride and groom and other members of the family if desired. The layers of coloured sand are a beautiful representation of unity. This can be a fantastic way to incorporate children into your ceremony. It also provides a fantastic keepsake from your big day. We provide the sand and a keepsake jar at no extra cost.

How do I personalise my programme? We will organise for you to meet with your celebrant to go through all the details of your ceremony. We would normally arrange this 2-3 months before your big day. If you are planning your wedding from abroad we can organise a catch up via skype/facetime or phone.

Do we need to pay upfront? No, we require a booking deposit of €125 to secure your booking. The balance is due 6 weeks before the wedding.
